The Clemco Apollo Series Supplied-Air Respirators are hallmarks of safety, comfort, and performance. Recognizable by their bright red-orange color, Apollo 600 Respirators are easily visible on the job site. Their wide-span window offers the wearer a commanding view of the work surface and broad-scope peripheral vision. The 600 has new features making it comfortable to wear, easier to maintain, and more durable, promising a long service life. The Apollo 600 is a single-shell helmet with two adjustable suspension options. The DLX comfort-fit suspension (2 sizes)
surrounds the operators head with comfortable padding. The adjustable web suspension fits head sizes 6.5 to 8. Adjustable chin strap holds the helmet in position on the operator’s head.

The helmet features:

The helmet assembly is durable and designed to provide years of service. It is NIOSH-approved as a type CE continuous-flow respirator and carries ANSI Z89-2003 approval as a category G hard hat.

The breathing hose attaches in the center rear of the helmet for comfortable balance on the head. Incoming air moves through a channel for even distribution from the top of the head for easy breathing and operator comfort. The generously-sized helmet protects the user from the harsh environs of the blast job site and keeps the wearer clean.

Two-braid hose is used in industrial settings where external scuffing is expected. It can be used with all common blast media. Clemco 2-braid blast hose has a durable outer casing and is more flexible than 4-ply hose.

Description of Operation
Clemco 2-braid blast hose accepts properly sized couplings and nozzle holders. The coupled hose can attach to any blast machine rated at up to 150 psi. Two-braid hose is widely used in shipyards and railyards because it stands up to external abrasions from being dragged about the blast site.

For applications where 2-braid blast hoses are used (for their more durable outer casing), a 10 to 15 foot length of Clemco Supa hose can be connected as the last section before the nozzle. This whip hose is easier for the operator to bend and manuever.

Purpose
Clemco blast hose safety cables are used at all coupled connections on the blast hose. The cables support the weight of the blast hose to keep it from pulling the couplings apart or pulling the hose out of the coupling. The cables also help keep the blast hose from whipping about in the event of a coupling failure.

Safety cables should also be used with compressed-air hose connections.

Description of Operation
Attach blast hose safety cables at all coupled connections. Before connecting the couplings, pull back the spring-loadedloop. Loop the two ends of the safety cable around the hoses only — not the remote control lines.

Connect the hose coupling and slide the ends of the safety cable back until the cable is straight and the hose is slightly bent. Safety cables relieve the couplings of the weight of the hose.

Blast machine screens and covers help keep contaminants from entering the blast machine. Recessed screens keep out particles larger than 1/4-inch diameter. Steel covers fit on top of the blast machine (with or without the recessed screen in place) to keep out rain. Moisture interferes with most blast media and cause blockages in the blast machine valves and plumbing.

Description of Operation

  • The recessed steel screen fits into the concave head of the blast machine. The operator places one or more bags of abrasive onto the screen and cuts the bag(s) to allow abrasive to flow through the precisely sized holes in the screen to fill the blast machine.
  • The recessed screen can be used with bulk abrasive loading systems.
  • When not in use, the blast machine should be covered to prevent moisture or airborne trash from falling into the pressure vessel.
